Sneak Preview of The People’s Photo Album: A Pictorial Genealogy of the Antigonish Movement

This young clarinet player was born in Harlem and grew up in Manhattan.  StFX cherishes him as Professor of Physics (now Professor Emeritus) and as the originator of the Performing Arts Series, which he and his wife Heidi have sustained since 1978.  The Steinitz family exemplifies the hospitality and cooperation markers of the Antigonish Movement through their friendship with Dr. Emily Sikazwe, MAdEd and honourary doctorate 2011, whose daughters Yatuta and Kayi lived with their family throughout their student years at StFX, as did WUSC refugee from Sudan, Chrissy Hayat.  You will find photos of four generations of the Steinitz family on p. 150 of The People’s Photo Album.
