The Imagine Podcast
The Imagine Podcast is an intimate conversation series hosted by singer-songwriter Jenn Grant, built around one question: how can we heal—even transform one another and this world—through creativity? Across seven episodes, Jenn talks with elders, artists, scientists, writers, and healers whose lives have been shaped by creative practice in the face of illness, injustice, loss, and uncertainty.
Guests include HARP founders—botanical artist Dorothy Lander and pediatric oncologist John Graham-Pole, whose work with gardens, green burials, and Death Cafés reframes mortality; writer Mohammed Al-Bardawili, speaking from Gaza City about love and storytelling amid war; animal cognition scientist and improv facilitator Justin Gregg; intuitive astrologer Deborah Young; musician Andrew Sisk on living with chronic illness; Mi’kmaw artist Alan Syliboy on petroglyphs, language reclamation, and music; and songwriter Jill Barber, closing the series with a conversation on aging, motherhood, and random acts of kindnesses.
The series is produced under HARP (tryhealingarts.ca) and connects to the global Imagine Movement, which began with Imagine Chicago in the early 1990s, and pairs appreciative inquiry with community storytelling. HARP brought the practice home through Imagine Antigonish, a community photo exhibit and companion book that gives the podcast its name and spirit.
Jenn Grant : Host
Jenn Grant is a three-time Juno-nominated, Polaris long listed and award-winning singer-songwriter and visual artist based in Lake Echo, Nova Scotia. With ten studio albums, Jenn has become one of Canada’s most distinctive musical voices. A graduate of NSCAD University with a degree in painting, she lives with her husband, producer Daniel Ledwell, and is currently on a multimedia tour called “Cradled by the Waves” for her latest album, Queen of the Strait.
Robin Grant : Producer
Robin Grant is the producer of The Imagine Podcast and a stakeholder in HARP, the Nova Scotia-based Community Interest Company (CIC) behind the series. A trained journalist, she’s the former producer of Book Me! with Costas Halavrezos, and founder of Digitally Lit: Atlantic Canadian Youth Read and ArtForce NL (formerly For the Love of Learning). Her work is centred on social activism, the arts, and youth empowerment-including with Bridge to Publishing: Reclaiming the Indigenous Narrative of Atlantic Canada. She’s also Jenn Grant’s older sister.
